Combret & Co (2005 - 2010)

Combret & Co was created in 2005
by François Polge de Combret after 25 years
at Lazard in NY and Paris.

Combret & Co was created as a confidential boutique consulting firm in M&A and strategic advisory.

In 2008, Combret & Co became
a managing partner of UBS in Paris.

In 2010 Combret & Co signed with
CRÉDIT AGRICOLE Investment bank.

Combret & Co (2010 - 2020)

In 2010, Alpha Condé was elected President of Guinea and called François to ask him to help developing the country. At that time, Alpha Condé also asked Tony Blair and Georges Soros.

In 2011, Combret & Co signed a contract with RIO TINTO to advise on the SIMANDOU iron ore project.

Alongside former US' SECRETARY OF STATES, Henry KISSINGER, François was the only one having such a contract with RIO TINTO.

Thanks to François, Guinea received 700 millions USD as a downpayment.

Combret & Co signed a contract
with MUDABALA in 2015.

François brought in billion of dollars
of investments to Guinea.

In 2016, RIO TINTO was planning to invest
20 billions USD in Guinea.

Press coverage on potential corruption allegations have all been dismissed without
any charges.

Combret & Co (2020 - 2025)

In 2020, François' son, Augustin, joined Combret & Co to develop the company.

Augustin, a graduate from EMORY'S GOIZUETA BUSINESS SCHOOL and HKUST, started his career at CREDIT SUISSE in Basel as a relationship private banker.

Augustin invested personally in TESLA in 2014 and started trading on the markets.

While joining the family office, Combret Ventures, to help selecting funds and choosing stocks, Augustin worked at PHILIPPE MENAGER in Paris to manage the family real estate, about 100 millions USD, and to serve friends.

As an example, Augustin's brought to MENAGER the sale of La Villa Les Cèdres,
in St Jean Cap Ferrat. The most expensive house in the world sold for 250 millions USD.

Augustin brought to Combret & Co his
real-estate expertise in luxury residential and in ultra-prime retail real-estate.
